A fantastic vacancy currently exists with my client for an experienced QUALITY ENGINEER / QUALITY ASSURANCE / QA ENGINEER based at their Bradford, West Yorkshire manufacturing site.
Role:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Quality Manager for maintaining and continual improvement of quality strategies to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved and maintained, at optimum costs, in order to enhance both Company performance and long term business development. Ensure compliance with customer quality standards.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Personal Attributes:
* Degree or similar qualification in Mechanical / Production Engineering.
* At least 5 years experience within quality assurance.
* Automotive knowledge in 5 why, fishbone diagram, A3, FM Tips, 8D, FMEA etc.
* Proficient knowledge and understanding of TS16949 is essential.
* Good presentation skills.
* Methodical and thorough with an eye for detail.
* Good problem solving skills including maths.
* Able to cope under pressure.
* Confident to communicate at all levels.
* Excellent organisation/time management skills.
* Full driving licence.
* Full passport.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and ensure continual improvement of quality assurance systems and business management system.
* Ensure compliance to Company procedures.
* Point of contact with customer on quality issues.
* Process control and capability studies.
* Supervisory responsibility for metallurgical laboratories and quality audit.
* Liaise with other sites to ensure common systems are developed.
* Ensure conformance to TS16949, standard and other customer requirements.
* Adopt / implement proactive actions to obtain internal improvements.
* Champion use of approved tools and techniques to solve problems and develop processes.
* Report corrective action for non conformances (internal / external).
* Leadership and facilitation of continuous improvement and introduction of various lean manufacturing techniques and variation reduction.
* Ensure quality systems and procedures are fully updated and communicated.
* Analyse and report on the cost of quality.
* Ensure quality approval is obtained for suppliers and sub-contractors.
* Ensure auditing is carried out on both product and process (internal / external).
* Ensure appropriate process control and capability studies are in place.
* Development of skills based training for employees including SPC, auditing, problem solving and FMEA.
* Carry out benchmarking exercises in pursuit of implementing quality best practice.
